They were fantastic for that use, easy to clean afterwards and useful for day to day soups, especially if cooked/baked in the oven. Pros: Easy to use, easy to clean, price for a box of 12 was terrific, just the right size for French Onion Soup starters! Cons: Be sure to avoid having any spills on outside of crock prior to baking (wipe them down before putting in the oven) - otherwise, no dislikes at all! We often have large family gatherings and these bowls go with my white plates. They will be perfect for french onion soup, mac and cheese, etc. The bowls are listed as 12 oz capacity, but using a measuring cup I was able to get 16 oz of liquid in the bowl, so the 12 oz is a conservative measurement.
