We use these food pans for tea sandwiches and for pastries. Perfect size for mini cupcakes or petit fours - the lid won't mess up the icing. The lids (purchase separately) lay on top nicely, but aren't exactly secured or 'snapped' into place. They stack very well, even with other sizes (for example you can put 2 half-size pans on top of a full size pan.) We're very happy with these.
